Thank a Hero (November 11, 2021)

A Vietnam veteran once said, "There is no greater honor than to serve one's country and answer its call to duty." This now elderly gentleman never forgot what Semper Fidelis meant. Latin for "Always Faithful," this credo is what the Marines live by, representing an eternal commitment to success in battle, progress to the nation, and unyielding loyalty to fellow marines. This attitude is symbolic to all veterans in each of the nation's military branches.

Whether defending liberty upon a ship, submarine, plane, helicopter, tank, truck, or by foot, our veterans have never wavered. They have battled ice and snow, extreme wind, frigid waters and the blazing heat, and sands of deserts. Harsh weather was secondary to those who wished to destroy our way of life, so our veterans continued to fight.

American veterans battled for the port of Pearl Harbor, awaited the unknowns as their landing craft door lowered on the shores of Normandy, combatted in the jungles of Vietnam, encountered landmines in Fallujah, and fought multiple insurgencies in the mountains of the Kandahar province.

Without contemplation of personal safety, our veterans marched into harm's way, willing to give their very last breath to defend liberty. There is no nobler a cause and no more heroic an act; their willingness to sacrifice all to preserve freedom, peace, and the American way, will never be repaid.

On this Veteran's Day, Team Z gives thanks to those who are with us. We encourage our clients to sit with a veteran family member to talk about the past, visit a local veteran's hospital, sing the Star-Spangled banner, or smile when you go outside and realize you are free because of our nation's one percent.

On behalf of Team Z, we salute and thank our American heroes for all you represent and have contributed to the greatest country on this earth.

 Sincerely,

Justin R. Zinzow
