Home / State, County and City Projects
State, county and city (municipal) projects are governed by Chapter 255, Florida Statutes (also known as the Little Miller Act because it is modeled, in part, after the Federal Miller Act applicable to federal government projects, and are those which are not on land owned by a private individual, company, or the federal government. State and municipal projects can be anything ranging from roads and bridges to utilities to office, and everything in between. These projects can be non-bonded if they are small (generally under $100,000 for a state project, and under $200,000 for a municipality), but most are bonded, meaning that if you are not paid and properly preserve your rights, you may have a right to make a claim against a payment bond. Bonded projects will have one or more payment bonds which can provide further protection and avenues to secure your payment. No matter which type of project you are working on or furnishing materials to, ZinDocs can help you get paid. Payment bond claims are made through a notice of nonpayment. Don't know how to go about making your payment bond claim? Have no fear, ZinDocs is here!
